Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a deviation of light emitted and a variation of chromaticity to improve manufacturing yield by improving mounting precision of a light converting member.SOLUTION: The semiconductor light emitting device includes: a light-emitting element; a rear surface electrode provided on a lower surface of the light-emitting element; a first phosphor layer provided on an upper surface of the light-emitting element; and a light control member covering a side surface of the light emitting element and the first phosphor layer.
