Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphor lens which is applicable to a white light emission device and which enables the miniaturization of the device by reducing the number of components of the device.SOLUTION: There is provided a phosphor lens which includes, as a main component, a complex oxide having ABOtype garnet structure in which one or more elements selected from a group consisting of at least Y, Lu, Sc and La, and Ce are placed at an A site position, and Al is placed at a B side position; includes, as a sug component, at least one oxide selected from a group consisting of a silicon oxide, a zirconium oxide, a titanium oxide and a hafnium oxide in a range of larger than 0 and less than 100 ppm as a mass ratio with respect to the complex oxide; and is made of a sintered body of a transparent ceramic having a total light transmittance of 50% or more at wavelength of 600 nm in optical length of 10 mm.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
