PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanical seal for a slurry fluid which can prevent deterioration of an alignment function of a retainer which holds a stationary seal ring for sealing a slurry fluid.SOLUTION: A mechanical seal 3 for a slurry fluid includes: a rotary seal ring 21 which is attached to the rotary shaft 61 side so as to integrally rotate therewith; an annular retainer 22 which is attached to a seal case 52 enclosing the rotary shaft 61; a stationary seal ring 23 which is held by the retainer 22 and seals a slurry fluid by the rotary seal ring 21 slidably contacting therewith; an elastic bellows 24 which presses the stationary seal ring 23 to the rotary seal ring 21 side through the retainer 22; and a ring member 32 which is attached to the seal case 52 while forming a very small space with an outer peripheral surface 22b of the retainer 22 which does not face a device inner area C in which the slurry fluid is sealed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】スラリ流体を密封する静止密封環を保持しているリテーナの調心機能が低下するのを防止できるスラリ流体用メカニカルシールを提供する。【解決手段】スラリ流体用メカニカルシール３は、回転軸６１側に一体回転可能に取り付けられた回転密封環２１と、回転軸６１を包囲しているシールケース５２に取り付けられた環状のリテーナ２２と、リテーナ２２に保持され回転密封環２１が摺接することでスラリ流体を密封する静止密封環２３と、リテーナ２２を介して静止密封環２３を回転密封環２１側へ押圧する弾性ベローズ２４と、スラリ流体が密封された機内領域Ｃに面していないリテーナ２２の外周面２２ｂとの間に微小隙間をあけた状態でシールケース５２に取り付けられているリング部材３２を備えている。【選択図】図１
