Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure pump capable of suppressing suction of vapor into a pressurization chamber while preventing a discharge passage from having abnormally high pressure.SOLUTION: A housing 10 has a pressurization chamber 203 for pressurizing a fuel, a suction passage 204 in which a fuel sucked into the pressurization chamber 203 flows, discharge passages 130, 205 through which the fuel pressurized in the pressurization chamber 203 and discharged therefrom flows, and a relief passage 206 connected to the discharge passage 205 at one end and communicated with the suction passage 204 at the other end. A plunger 50 is axially reciprocatable to increase and decrease a volume of the pressurization chamber 203. A relief valve portion 70 can permit or restrict the flow of the fuel in the relief passage 206 in opening or closing the valve. The relief passage 206 has one end connected to the discharge passage 205 and another end side disposed in an anti-pressurizing direction as a direction of movement of the plunger 50 to increase the volume of the pressurization chamber 203 with respect to that at the one end side, and extended from the one end side to the other end side.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】吐出通路が異常高圧になるのを抑制しつつ、ベーパ-が加圧室に吸入されるのを抑制可能な高圧ポンプを提供する。【解決手段】ハウジング10は、燃料が加圧される加圧室203、加圧室203に吸入される燃料が流れる吸入通路204、加圧室203で加圧され吐出される燃料が流れる吐出通路130、205、および、一端が吐出通路205に接続し他端が吸入通路204に連通するよう形成されたリリーフ通路206を有している。プランジャ50は、加圧室203の容積が増減するよう軸方向に往復移動可能である。リリーフ弁部70は、開弁時または閉弁時、リリーフ通路206の燃料の流れを許容または規制可能である。リリーフ通路206は、一端が吐出通路205に接続し、他端側が、一端側よりも加圧室203の容積が増大するようプランジャ50が移動する方向である反加圧方向に設けられ、一端側から他端側に延びている。【選択図】図1
