Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear unit capable of reducing oscillation and noise produced when gear and pinion mesh by only two-dimensional tooth surface modification and with low cost in a parallel Cardan drive system railroad vehicular gear unit having a pair of helical pinion 1 and helical gear 2, each having gear specifications with modules of 4 to 8, pressure angle of 20 to 30°, and helix angle of 15 to 30°.SOLUTION: A railroad vehicular gear unit GM of the invention in that a tooth flank 11 in a tooth trunk direction of helical pinion 1 is expressed by a circular arc curve and that comprises: a circular arc curved crowning modification surface GMover 55% of the full width in a tooth width direction of the helical pinion; and a relieving modification surface GMof remaining part on both end sides in the tooth width direction. The modification amount R of the crowning modification surface is set within a range of equation (1).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】モジュールが4〜8、圧力角が20〜30°及びねじれ角が15〜30°の歯車諸元を夫々有する、対をなすはすば小歯車1とはすば大歯車2とを備える平行カルダン駆動方式の鉄道車両用歯車装置において、二次元的な歯面修整だけで大歯車と小歯車とが噛み合うときに発生する振動と騒音とを低減できる低コストのものを提供する。【解決手段】本発明の鉄道車両用歯車装置GMは、はすば小歯車1の歯筋方向の歯面11が単一の円弧曲線で表される、はすば小歯車の歯幅方向全幅の55%以上の範囲に亘る円弧曲線形状のクラウニング修整面GW1と、歯幅方向両端側の残存部分のレリービング修整面GW2とを有する。クラウニング修整面の修整量Rは式(1)の範囲内に設定される。【選択図】図2
