Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a cost of an optical path protection construction of a reserve system for an operational system.SOLUTION: An optical transmission system 30 sets a plurality of bands to each of optical fiver transmission paths 11A and 11B of an optical path protection construction of an operational system and a reserve system, assigns an optical signal of a difference wavelength, and transmits to each of the set bands. The optical transmission system comprises: transmission and reception devices 21B1 to 21B5 that convert the optical signal received after it is branched to the reserve system in an optical coupler 12 into a transmission rate corresponding to an actual traffic of the optical signal, convert the optical signal of the converted transmission rate to a wavelength different from the other optical signal, and transmit optical signals La to Le of the converted different wavelength; an optical multiplexer/demultiplexer 32B that multiplexes and outputs each of transmitted optical signals La to Le; and a WSS33B that sets each of bands Ba to Be corresponding to the actual traffic for transferring each of multiplexed optical signals La to Le to the optical fiver transmission path 11B of the reserve system.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】運用系に対する予備系の光パスプロテクション構成のコストを下げる。【解決手段】光伝送システム30は、運用系と予備系の光パスプロテクション構成の各々の光ファイバ伝送路11A,11Bに複数の帯域を設定し、この設定された各帯域に、異なる波長の光信号を割り当てて伝送する。光カプラ12で予備系に分岐後に受信された光信号を、当該光信号の実トラフィックに対応する伝送速度に変換し、この変換された伝送速度の光信号を分岐された他の光信号と異なる波長に変換し、この変換された各々異なる波長の光信号La〜Leを送信する送受信機21B1〜21B5を備える。送信された各光信号La〜Leを合波して出力する光合分波器32Bと、予備系の光ファイバ伝送路11Bに、合波された各光信号La〜Leを波長毎に伝送するための、実トラフィックに応じた各帯域Ba〜Beを設定するWSS33Bとを備える構成とする。【選択図】図1
