Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a transfer device that can suppress a reduction in quality of a transfer image transferred to a recording medium compared with a case where a transfer member is formed of a cylindrical elastic member and a shaft member that is in contact, over the entire outer peripheral surface, with an inner peripheral surface of the elastic member, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: At an upstream end N1 and a downstream end N2, a difference in speed occurring between a sheet member P conveyed at a rotation speed of a transfer belt 22 and an outer peripheral surface 56B of an elastic member 56 is reduced. Thus, the occurrence of an image defect, such as image elongation or image blur on a toner image transferred to the sheet member P can be reduced.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】転写部材が、円筒状の弾性部材と、この弾性部材の内周面に外周面が全周に亘って接触している軸部材とで構成されている場合と比して、記録媒体に転写される転写画像の品質の低下を抑制することができる転写装置、及び画像形成装置を得る。【解決手段】上流端N1及び下流端N2では、転写ベルト22の周回速度で搬送されているシート部材Pと、弾性部材56の外周面56Bとの間に生じる速度差が、小さくなる。このため、シート部材Pに転写されるトナー画像に、画像伸び、又は画像ぶれ等の画像欠陥が生じるのが抑制される。【選択図】図1
