Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate a discomfort degree that a viewer feels owing to screen shaking with high precision even under a condition in which a perception quantity of a shaking degree and a discomfort degree are separate, for example, when a shaking component of low frequency in a circumferential (rotational) direction is large, when shaking of the conspicuous object in an image is not remarkable as compared with shaking of other areas, or when shaking lasts for a long time.SOLUTION: A discomfort estimation device 2 comprises: a rotational shaking component extraction unit 10 which extracts a vector in a circumferential direction; a digital filter unit 20 which detects a low-frequency rotational shaking correction quantity; a low-frequency rotational shaking correction unit 40 which corrects a shaking perception quantity with the low-frequency rotational shaking correction quantity; an eye-catching-degree-by-area calculation unit 50 which calculates eye-catching degrees by areas; an eye-catching degree correction unit 70 which corrects a difference between a shaking perception quantity and a discomfort degree with the eye-catching degrees by the areas; and a total shaking energy correction unit 80 which corrects accumulation effect of discomfort degree to shaking lasting for a long time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 【課題】低周波の周(回転)方向の揺れ成分が多かったり、映像内で目立つ対象の揺れがそれ以外の領域の揺れと比して顕著ではなかったり、揺れが長時間続いたりするような、動揺の大きさの知覚量と不快度とが乖離する条件でも、視聴者が画面動揺によって感じる不快度を高精度に推定できるようにする。【解決手段】不快度推定装置2は、周方向ベクトルを抽出する回転動揺成分抽出部10と、低周波回転動揺補正量を検出するデジタルフィルタ部20と、低周波回転動揺補正量によって動揺認知量を補正する低周波回転動揺補正部40と、領域別誘目度を算出する領域別誘目度算出部50と、領域別誘目度によって動揺認知量と不快度の差を補正する誘目度補正部70と、長時間継続する動揺に対する不快度の蓄積効果分を補正する総動揺エネルギー補正部80と、を備える。【選択図】図8
