The fastener includes a head, a cylindrical shank 440 that extends from the head and is dimensioned to fit and engage a corresponding hole, the cylindrical shank having a surface 520, and a coating 510 that is discontinuously speckled around a circumference of the surface 520 and extends axially along the shank 440, the coating 510 leaving irregular portions of the surface 520 of the shank exposed.
