Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy of an abnormality diagnosis in the case where the abnormality diagnosis is made when a temperature of an exhaust emission control catalyst is low.SOLUTION: An abnormality diagnostic device for an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine includes a control device for adding an additive to an exhaust emission control catalyst when a temperature of the exhaust emission control catalyst is a predetermined temperature or lower. The control device makes an abnormality diagnosis of the exhaust emission control catalyst on the basis of exhaust gas purification capacity of the exhaust emission control catalyst. In the case where the abnormality diagnosis of the exhaust emission control catalyst is made when the temperature of the exhaust emission control catalyst is the predetermined temperature or lower, the amount of the additive to be supplied to the exhaust emission control catalyst is reduced, compared to the case where the abnormality diagnosis of the exhaust emission control catalyst is not made when the temperature of the exhaust emission control catalyst is the predetermined temperature or lower.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】排気浄化触媒の温度が低いときに異常診断を実施する場合において、異常診断の精度を向上させる。【解決手段】排気浄化触媒の温度が所定温度以下のときに、排気浄化触媒に添加剤を供給する制御装置を備え、制御装置は、排気浄化触媒の排気の浄化能力に基づいて排気浄化触媒の異常診断を実施し、排気浄化触媒の温度が所定温度以下のときに排気浄化触媒の異常診断を実施する場合には、排気浄化触媒の温度が所定温度以下のときに排気浄化触媒の異常診断を実施しない場合よりも、排気浄化触媒に供給する添加剤の量を少なくする。【選択図】図5
