Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversible heat-sensitive recording material which enables an image having clear contrast to be formed and erased, causes less change in a surface state due to repeated printing and erasing, and has good repetition durability.SOLUTION: A reversible heat-sensitive recording material includes: a reversible heat-sensitive recording layer including a dye precursor that is usually colorless or pale color, and a reversible developer that forms relatively coloring state and decoloration state by difference of a heating temperature and/or a cooling rate after heating on a substrate; and a protective layer on the reversible heat-sensitive recording layer, where the protective layer is coated by a coating liquid in which a resin and fatty acid metal salt are dissolved.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】明瞭なコントラストを持つ画像の形成・消去が可能で、印字・消去の繰り返しに伴う表面状態の変化が少なく、繰り返し耐久性が良好な可逆性感熱記録材料を提供することである。【解決手段】支持体上に、通常無色ないし淡色の染料前駆体と、加熱温度及び／または加熱後の冷却速度の違いにより相対的に発色した状態と消色した状態を形成させる可逆性顕色剤とを含有する可逆性感熱記録層と、該可逆性感熱記録層上に保護層を設けた可逆性感熱記録材料において、該保護層が樹脂と脂肪酸金属塩とを溶解した塗液により塗設されたものである可逆性感熱記録材料。【選択図】なし
