Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound absorption material which can absorb the sound well in a wide frequency band required for vehicle interior materials.SOLUTION: A method of manufacturing a sound absorption material is such that: a glass fiber 2 and a polypropylene resin fiber 3 are mixed to form a sheet-like fiber; on the other hand, in the process of manufacturing mesoporous silica, a composite material 7 in which the surface of the micelle of a surfactant is covered with silica is produced. After mixing the composite material 7 as a sound absorbing functional material into the sheet-like fiber and forming a nonwoven fabric 6 with the sheet-like fiber mixed with the composite material 7, the nonwoven fabric 6 is heated to melt the polypropylene resin fiber 3 to fix the glass fiber.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】車両内装材等に要求される広い周波数帯域の吸音を良好に行うことができる吸音材を提供する。【解決手段】ガラス繊維2とポリプロピレン樹脂繊維3を混合してシート状繊維とし、一方、メソポーラスシリカを製造する過程で界面活性剤のミセルの表面をシリカで覆った複合体7を生成して、シート状繊維に複合材7を吸音機能材として混入し、複合体7が混入したシート状繊維で不織布6を生成した後、当該不織布6を加熱してポリプロピレン樹脂繊維3を溶融させてガラス繊維を固定する。【選択図】 図1
