Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a convenient method and device for linear friction welding capable of forming a favorable welding part while suppressing the discharge amount of weld flash at minimum.SOLUTION: An objective linear friction welding method comprises: a first process of contacting one member with the other member to form a boundary face to be welded; a second process of repeatedly sliding one and the other members on the same trajectory in such a state as applying pressure nearly perpendicular to the boundary face to discharge of weld flash from the boundary face nearly parallel to and nearly perpendicular to a sliding direction; and a third process of stopping a sliding motion to form a composition plane. The method is characterized by observing the boundary face to be welded from a direction nearly perpendicular to a sliding direction in the second process, and by carrying out stop in the third process instantaneously after the weld flash is discharged nearly parallel to the sliding direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】バリの排出量を最低限に抑えつつ、良好な接合部を形成することができる、簡便な線形摩擦接合方法及び線形摩擦接合装置を提供する。【解決手段】一方の部材を他方の部材に当接させて被接合界面を形成する第一工程と、被接合界面に対して略垂直に圧力を印加した状態で、一方の部材と他方の部材とを同一軌跡上で繰り返し摺動させ、摺動の方向と略平行及び略垂直に被接合界面からバリを排出させる第二工程と、摺動を停止して接合面を形成する第三工程と、を有し、第二工程において、摺動の方向に対して略垂直の方向から被接合界面を観察し、バリが摺動の方向に対して略平行に排出された瞬間に、第三工程における停止を実行すること、を特徴とする線形摩擦接合方法。【選択図】図2
