Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel lithium secondary battery in which a positive electrode active material of a high potential is used, and which enables the further improvement in charge and discharge characteristics.SOLUTION: A lithium secondary battery 20 comprises: a positive electrode 22 including a positive electrode active material; a negative electrode 23 including a negative electrode active material consisting of a carbonaceous material capable of occluding and releasing lithium ions; and a nonaqueous electrolyte 27 interposed between the positive electrode 22 and the negative electrode 23 and conducting lithium ions. The nonaqueous electrolyte 27 contains a fluorine-containing phenol compound of which the number of substitutions of fluorine is 2 or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
