Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope system that allows an observation object to be observed almost in the same way as a case where continuous spectrum light of white light or the like emitted by a xenon lamp is used for illumination light, and an operation method of the endoscope system.SOLUTION: An endoscope system includes a light source control part that causes a light amount integral value acquired by a first color pixel of an imaging sensor when first multi-color spectrum light having a first multi-color spectrum superimposing the light emitted by a plurality of light sources for independently emitting light of colors different from each other is irradiated onto an observation object to coincide with a light amount integral value acquired by the first color pixel of the imaging sensor when continuous spectrum light, which is white light, is irradiated onto the observation object, and causes a light amount integral value acquired by a second color pixel of the imaging sensor when the first multi-color spectrum light is irradiated onto the observation object to coincide with a light amount integral value acquired by the second color pixel of the imaging sensor when the continuous spectrum light is irradiated onto the observation object.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 【課題】キセノンランプが発する白色光等の連続スペクトル光を照明光に用いた場合とほぼ同様に観察対象を観察可能にする内視鏡システム、及び、内視鏡システムの作動方法を提供する。【解決手段】内視鏡システムは、互いに異なる色の光を独立して発光する複数の光源が発光する光を重ね合わせた第1多色スペクトルを有する第1多色スペクトル光を観察対象に照射した場合に撮像センサの第1色画素で得られる光量積分値と、白色光である連続スペクトル光を観察対象に照射した場合に撮像センサの第1色画素で得られる光量積分値とを一致させ、かつ、第1多色スペクトル光を観察対象に照射した場合に撮像センサの第2色画素で得られる光量積分値と、連続スペクトル光を観察対象に照射した場合に撮像センサの第2色画素で得られる光量積分値と、を一致させる光源制御部と、を備える。【選択図】図6
