Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parking assist device simply configured such that when a state where an electric power steering motor cannot rotate continues for a predetermined period of time in the case of parking assist performed by use of the electric power steering motor, a flowing current value of the electric power steering motor is controlled to be reduced and thereby overheat of the electric power steering motor is prevented from occurring.SOLUTION: A parking assist ECU 4 is configured to receive information on a flowing current value of a motor from an EPSECU 3 and determine whether a state of no change in a commanded steering angle has continued for a predetermined period of time. When the parking assist ECU 4 determines that a state of no change in the commanded steering angle has continued, a steering angle command value is output from the parking assist ECU 4 to the EPSECU 3 so that a commanded steering angle to an EPS motor 2 is reduced in a reverse direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】電動パワーステアリングモータを利用して駐車支援を行う場合に、電動パワーステアリングモータの回転不能状態が一定時間生じたときに、電動パワーステアリングモータの通流電流値を減じる制御を行って、簡単な構成により電動パワーステアリングモータの過熱を未然に防止できるようにする。【解決手段】駐車支援手ECU4、EPSECU3からのモータ電流通電情報を受けると、駐車支援ECU4により、指示舵角に変化のない状態が一定時間継続しているかどうか判定され、継続すると判定されるとEPSモータ2への指示舵角を逆方向に減じるような舵角指令値が駐車支援ECU4からEPSECU3に出力される。【選択図】図1
