PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a long to-be-printed medium from being carried while inclined in a width direction, in a printer.SOLUTION: A printer comprises: a device casing including a storage part (cassette storage part 19) for storing a long to-be-printed medium M and an opening/closing lid 18 for covering the storage part (19) while being capable of opening/closing; a printing part (thermal head 10) for printing on the to-be-printed medium M; a carrying part (platen roller 21) which pinches a printing surface of the to-be-printed medium for printing with the printing part (10) for carrying; and a pressing part 40 which is provided to the opening/closing lid 18 and presses an end part, in a width direction W, of the printing surface of the to-be-printed medium M, in a state where the opening/closing lid 18 is closed, from a direction different from a direction pinching between the printing part (10) and the carrying part (21).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 【課題】印刷装置において、長尺状の被印刷媒体が幅方向に傾いて搬送されるのを防止する。【解決手段】印刷装置は、長尺状の被印刷媒体Ｍを収納する収納部（カセット収納部１９）と、当該収納部（１９）を開閉可能に覆う開閉蓋１８と、を有する装置筐体と、被印刷媒体Ｍに印刷を行う印刷部（サーマルヘッド１０）と、被印刷媒体の印刷が行われる印刷面を印刷部（１０）との間で挟み込んで搬送する搬送部（プラテンローラ２１）と、開閉蓋１８に設けられ、当該開閉蓋１８が閉じた状態で被印刷媒体Ｍの印刷面の幅方向Ｗの端部を、印刷部（１０）と搬送部（２１）との間で挟み込む方向と異なる方向から押さえる押さえ部４０と、を備える。【選択図】図６
