Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assemble an intermediate shaft and a joint cover even in the case where an assembling space is narrow.SOLUTION: A cylindrical joint cover 100 is prevented from the rotations of the joint cover 100 on the cylindrical shaft and the vertical rotations of the joint cover 100 by retaining a retaining part 120 on a retained portion 34 disposed on a steering gear 30. Hence, when an intermediate shaft 70 and the joint cover 100 are assembled, therefore, the joint cover 100 can be temporarily placed on a bracket 50. As a result, while the joint cover 100 is being temporarily placed on the steering gear 30, the intermediate shaft 70 is moved from the rear side of the vehicular longitudinal direction to the front side so that the shaft 70 can be inserted into the joint cover 100 in a temporary place state and can be arranged at the assembled position. In the case where the assembly space is narrow, therefore, the intermediate shaft and the joint cover can be easily assembled, even if the assembly space is narrow.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】組付スペースが狭い場合であってもインタミディエイトシャフト及びジョイントカバーを容易に組み付ける。【解決手段】筒状のジョイントカバー100は、係止部120をステアリングギア30に設けられた被係止部34に係止させることで、ジョイントカバー100の筒軸回りの回転及び上下方向の回転が防止される。よって、インタミディエイトシャフト70及びジョイントカバー100の組み付けの際に、先にジョイントカバー100をブラケット50に仮置きすることができる。これにより、ジョイントカバー100をステアリングギア30に仮置きした状態で、インタミディエイトシャフト70を車両前後方向後側から前側に移動して仮置き状態のジョイントカバー10に挿入すると共に組付け位置に配置することが可能となる。したがって、組付スペースが狭い場合であってもインタミディエイトシャフト70及びジョイントカバー100が容易に組み付けられる。【選択図】図2
