PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer device that can determine the position of a solid lubricant without increasing the number of components and ensure the volume of the solid lubricant.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus of the invention of the present application comprises: an image carrier; a rotating body that forms, with the image carrier, a transfer nip for transferring images on the image carrier to a recording medium and rotates in contact with the recording medium; a solid lubricant that extends in the longitudinal direction of the rotating body and applies lubricant to the rotating body; and a guide member that guides the recording medium to the rotating body, the guide member determining the position of the solid lubricant.
