Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor capable of reducing windage loss without substantially changing a basic shape of a rotor.SOLUTION: In an electric motor including a stator having a plurality of teeth protruding radially inwardly from an inner circumferential surface and coils wound around a plurality of respective teeth, and a rotor 12 having a plurality of salient poles 23 radially arranged on an outer peripheral surface, each of the salient poles 23 includes an upstream face 25 which is a face on a rotation direction side of the rotor 12 and a downstream face 26 which is a face opposite to the rotation direction of the rotor 12, a space part is formed between the upstream face 25 of one salient pole 23 and the downstream face 26 of the other salient pole, and a plurality of dimples 28 as recesses are provided on the downstream face 26.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】ロータの基本形状をほぼ変更することなく、風損を低減することが可能な電動モータの提供にある。【解決手段】内周面から径方向内側に向かって突出する複数のティースおよび複数のティースにそれぞれ巻回されたコイルを有するステータと、外周面にて放射状に配置された複数の突極23を有するロータ12と、を備え、突極23は、ロータ12の回転方向側の面である上流面25と、ロータ12の回転方向の反対側の面である下流面26と、を備え、一方の突極23における上流面25と他方の突極における下流面26との間に空間部を形成し、下流面26に凹部としての複数のディンプル28を設けた。【選択図】 図2
