Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-standing type length measurement device with which, when installed by the side of a machining apparatus, it is possible to measure the length of a workpiece.SOLUTION: A self-standing type length measurement device 1 comprises: a base 2 having a base body 11, a slide rail 25 integrally fixed to the base body 11 and a plurality of legs 20 installed at the bottom of the base body 11; and a slide unit 3 having a slide body, a length measuring device 80 and an arm 60 that comes in contact with a workpiece at measurement time. The legs 20 include a rod-like member height-adjustably connected to the base body 11 and a pad in which is formed a globe accommodation part for accommodating a globe and whose ground surface is made of resin.
