Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for uniformly growing the nanostructure such as a nanotube (for example, a carbon nanotube) on a surface of a substrate, where the method can substantially align a long axis of the nanostructure.SOLUTION: The nanostructure can be further treated for using in various applications such as composite material. For example, a set of the aligned nanostructures can be bulk-formed or can be formed on another surface and transferred to another material, in order to enhance property of the material. In some cases, the nanostructure can enhance the mechanical property of the material, such as by providing mechanical reinforcement to an interface between two materials or layers. In some cases, the nanostructure can enhance temperature property and/or electronic property of the material.
