Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light source device which can perform light distribution control in a longitudinal direction of a light distribution control element as well and has tolerance for thermal expansion or thermal contraction.SOLUTION: A surface light source device comprises: a substrate including a principal surface; a plurality of light sources disposed so as to be arrayed on the principal surface of the substrate; and a light distribution control element being disposed on the principal surface of the substrate so as to cover the plurality of light sources, and changing a light distribution of light emitted from the light sources. The light distribution control element includes: a first lens having a longitudinal part in an arrangement direction of the light sources; and a second lens being disposed at one end or both ends in a longitudinal direction of the first lens and having a fixed position where being disposed.
