Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect the potential of a surface of a photoreceptor drum to reduce the time required for detection of the potential of the surface of the photoreceptor drum.SOLUTION: A control part 208 performs control to obtain a surface potential A to determine a first voltage to be applied to a charging roller 202 with a charge voltage application circuit 205 so that a surface potential of a photoreceptor drum 201 becomes a first electric potential (S301 to S306), and subsequently applies the first voltage to the charging roller 202 with the charging voltage application circuit 205 to charge the photoreceptor drum 201 before performing second control to determine the quantity of light from a laser light source 207 so that the surface potential of the photoreceptor drum 201 becomes a second electric potential (S307 to S310).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 【課題】感光ドラム表面の電位を精度よく検知し、感光ドラム表面の電位の検知に要する時間を短縮すること。【解決手段】制御部208は、表面電位Aを求める制御を行って感光ドラム201の表面電位が第1の電位となるように帯電電圧印加回路205により帯電ローラ202に印加する第1の電圧を決定し(S301〜S306)、その後、帯電電圧印加回路205により第1の電圧を帯電ローラ202に印加して感光ドラム201を帯電させた状態で第2の制御を行い、感光ドラム201の表面電位が第2の電位となるようにレーザ光源207の光量を決定する(S307〜S310)。【選択図】図6
