Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of detecting an abnormal place included in a sheet-shaped object to be inspected and discriminating a type of abnormality.SOLUTION: A sheet inspection device includes: a light source 31 for irradiating a first plane of an object 2 to be inspected with light; an imaging sensor 4 arranged so as to be able to image the object to be inspected by the light irradiated by the light source and transmitting through the object to be inspected; a processing part 5 for detecting an abnormal place included in the object to be inspected on the basis of an image of the object to be inspected obtained by the imaging sensor, and also discriminating a type of abnormality occurring at the detected abnormal place; and an output part 58 for outputting information related to the abnormal place including at least information indicating the type of the abnormality discriminated by the processing part. An amount of the light of the light source and/or a gain of the imaging sensor are adjusted such that the luminance of light directly made incident to the imaging sensor from the light source in a state where the object to be inspected is not arranged becomes the same as an upper limit of a measurable range of the imaging sensor or substantially the same.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】シート状の被検査物に含まれる異常箇所の検出と異常の種類の判別を可能にする技術を提供する。【解決手段】被検査物2の第1の面に対し光を照射する光源31と、光源から照射され被検査物を透過した光により被検査物を撮像できるように配置された撮像センサ4と、撮像センサにより得られた被検査物の画像に基づいて、被検査物に含まれる異常箇所を検出すると共に、検出した異常箇所で発生している異常の種類を判別する処理部5と、処理部により判別された異常の種類を示す情報を少なくとも含む、異常箇所に関する情報を出力する出力部58と、を有しており、被検査物の配置されていない状態において光源から撮像センサに直接入射する光の輝度が、撮像センサの計測可能範囲の上限と同じか実質的に同じになるように、光源の光量及び/又は撮像センサのゲインが調整されている。【選択図】図1
