PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of detecting an abnormal place included in a sheet-shaped object to be inspected and discriminating a type of abnormality.SOLUTION: A sheet inspection device includes: a light source 31 for irradiating a first plane of an object 2 to be inspected with light; an imaging sensor 4 arranged so as to be able to image the object to be inspected by the light irradiated by the light source and transmitting through the object to be inspected; a processing part 5 for detecting an abnormal place included in the object to be inspected on the basis of an image of the object to be inspected obtained by the imaging sensor, and also discriminating a type of abnormality occurring at the detected abnormal place; and an output part 58 for outputting information related to the abnormal place including at least information indicating the type of the abnormality discriminated by the processing part.
