PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve user-friendliness and to further stabilize movement and an attitude of a recording medium to be discharged.SOLUTION: A recording device 1 comprises: a recording section 12; a discharge section 17 discharging a recording medium after recording; and a medium reception section 30 receiving the recording medium discharged. The medium reception section 30 includes: a first reception member 40 having a first reception surface 90A; and a second reception member 70 being positioned apart from the first reception member 40 backward in a discharge direction and having a second reception surface 71. The medium reception section 30 can switch between a first state where the first reception member 40 and the second reception member 70 are inclined with leading end portions 41 and 72 directed downward and a second state SS where an angle of the first reception member 40 and an angle of the second reception member 70 with respect to a horizontal plane are smaller than those thereof in the first state.
