Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driver circuit, a control device, and a protection method for the driver circuit, capable of notifying of presence or absence of failure of temperature detection unit in a driver circuit.SOLUTION: In a control device 1, a driver circuit 3 includes a driver part 4, a first temperature detection part 5, an over temperature protection part 6, a second temperature detection part 8, and a failure diagnostic part 7. The driver part 4 causes a drive current to be supplied to a load on the basis of a control signal inputted from a controller 2. The first temperature detection part 5 outputs a signal corresponding to a detected temperature. The over temperature protection part 6 cuts off the drive current to the load if a signal level outputted by the first temperature detection part 5 exceeds a temperature threshold value. The second temperature detection part 8 outputs a signal corresponding to a detected temperature to the controller 2. The failure diagnostic part causes cut off of the drive current to the load if it determines that the first temperature detection part 5 fails, and causes the second temperature detection part 8 to output a signal at a level corresponding to a temperature out of a detectable temperature range with the second temperature detection part 8 to the controller 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】駆動回路内の温度検出部の故障の有無を制御部へ通知することができる駆動回路、制御装置および駆動回路の保護方法を提供する。【解決手段】制御装置1において駆動回路3は、駆動部4、第1温度検出部5、過熱保護部6、第2温度検出部8、および故障診断部7を備える。駆動部4は、制御部2から入力される制御信号に基づき、負荷へ駆動電流を供給させる。第1温度検出部5は、検出した温度に応じた信号を出力する。過熱保護部6は、第1温度検出部5から出力される信号のレベルが温度閾値を超える場合に、負荷への駆動電流の供給を遮断させる。第2温度検出部8は、検出した温度に応じた信号を制御部2へ出力する。故障診断部は、第1温度検出部5を故障と判定した場合に、負荷への駆動電流の供給を遮断させ、第2温度検出部8で検出可能な温度範囲外の温度に対応するレベルの信号を第2温度検出部8から制御部2へ出力させる。【選択図】図1
