PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet storage device which allows a user to additionally place paper sheets to a storage bag held by a holding part or take them out from the storage bag in a state where an aperture of the storage bag is open when specific conditions are satisfied and a paper sheet storage method.SOLUTION: A paper sheet storage device (for example, a bill processing machine 10) includes: a holding part (for example, each holding member 36) which holds a bill storage bag 34 in a state where an aperture of the bill storage bag 34 is open or sealed; regulating means 60 which selectively regulates an access to the bill storage bag 34 held by the holding part; and a control unit 50 which controls the regulating means 60 to allow an access to the bill storage bag 34 held by the holding part in a state where the aperture is open when specific conditions are satisfied.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】所定条件が満たされた場合に、開口部が開いた状態で保持部により保持されている収納袋への紙葉類の追加投入や当該収納袋からの紙葉類の取り出しを行うことができる紙葉類収納装置および紙葉類収納方法を提供する。【解決手段】紙葉類収納装置（例えば、紙幣処理機１０）は、紙幣収納袋３４の開口部が開いた状態または紙幣収納袋３４の開口部が封止された状態で収納袋を保持する保持部（例えば、各保持部材３６）と、保持部により保持されている紙幣収納袋３４へのアクセスを選択的に規制する規制手段６０と、所定条件が満たされた場合に、開口部が開いた状態で保持部により保持されている紙幣収納袋３４へのアクセスを許容するよう規制手段６０を制御する制御部５０とを備えている。【選択図】図１
