Abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feature quantity extraction device capable of appropriately authenticating an object, and an authentication system.SOLUTION: A feature quantity extraction device according to the present embodiment comprises a generator, a determiner and an extractor. The generator changes a direction of an object in a first image including an image of the object such that the object faces forward on the basis of a feature point of the object detected from image data of the first image, and generates a second image obtained by changing a size of the object in the first image to a predetermined size. The determiner determines whether or not the object facing forward is present in the second image on the basis of the second image. The detector detects feature quantity of the object on the basis of the second image when the object facing forward is determined to be present in the second image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
