PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a gap or a step generated by overlapped covering pieces of a packaging material in four corner parts of an upper surface of an article to be packaged, and to suppress a concave warp caused by bending of the article to be packaged in stacking a packaged body.SOLUTION: A packaging material 10 includes a pair of long side covering parts 11 and a pair of short side covering parts 12. Each of the long side covering parts comprises a long side lateral surface covering piece 11a for covering a long side lateral surface of an article to be packaged and a long side upper surface covering piece 11b and a long side lower surface covering piece 11c for covering a part of upper and lower surfaces 1c, 1d of the article to be packaged. Each of the short side covering parts comprises a short side lateral surface covering piece 12a for covering a short side lateral surface of the article to be packaged and a short side upper surface covering piece 12b and a short side lower surface covering piece 12c for covering a part of upper and lower surfaces of the article to be packaged. When the long side upper surface covering piece and the short side upper surface covering piece are folded back along an upper surface of the article to be packaged, the packaging material is formed so that end edges are brought into contact without overlapping in four corner parts of the upper surface of the article to be packaged.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】梱包物の上面の四隅部において梱包材の被覆片同士が重なることによる隙間ないし段差を小さくし、梱包体を堆積したときに被梱包物が撓むことによって凹反りの癖がつくことを抑制する。【解決手段】一対の長辺被覆部１１と一対の短辺被覆部１２とを有する梱包材１０であり、各長辺被覆部は、被梱包物の長辺側面を被覆する長辺側面被覆片１１ａと、被梱包物の上下面１ｃ，１ｄの各一部を被覆する長辺上面被覆片１１ｂおよび長辺下面被覆片１１ｃとからなり、各短辺被覆部は、被梱包物の短辺側面を被覆する短辺側面被覆片１２ａと、被梱包物の上下面の各一部を被覆する短辺上面被覆片１２ｂおよび短辺下面被覆片１２ｃとからなる。長辺上面被覆片と短辺上面被覆片を被梱包物の上面に沿って折り返したときに、被梱包物上面の四隅部でこれらが重なることなく端縁同士が略接するように形成される。【選択図】図１
