PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new treatment method for reducing alcohol consumption in alcohol dependence patients.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for reducing alcohol consumption in alcohol dependent patients, including: (a) a step of identifying an alcohol dependence patient to i) an alcohol dependence patient with high DRL, ii) an alcohol dependence patient maintaining high DRL after the observation period following the initial assessment; and (b) a step of administering a therapeutically effective amount of nalmefene represented by the following formula to the patient and in which the nalmefene is to be administered as necessary, for example, on each day when the patient recognizes alcohol drinking risk, preferably 1 to 2 hours before the anticipated drinking time.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】アルコール依存症患者のアルコール消費を低減するための新規治療方法の提供。【解決手段】アルコール依存症患者のアルコール消費を低減する方法であって、ａ）アルコール依存症患者を、ｉ）高ＤＲＬを有するアルコール依存症患者と、ｉｉ）初期評価に続く観察期間の後に高ＤＲＬを維持するアルコール依存症患者とに識別する工程；及びｂ）前記患者に治療有効量の、下記式で表されるナルメフェンを投与する工程であって、前記ナルメフェンが必要に応じて、例えば、前記患者がアルコール飲酒リスクを認識する各日に、好ましくは予想される飲酒時間の１〜２時間前に投与されるものとする工程を含む、アルコール依存症患者のアルコール消費の低減方法。【選択図】なし
