Summary:PURPOSE: To provide a display driver capable of performing a fast drive and a semiconductor device.CONSTITUTION: A display driver includes: a plurality of decoders for individually converting each of a plurality of pieces of pixel data representing a luminance level of each pixel into a gray level voltage having a magnitude corresponding to the luminance level represented by a pixel data piece; a plurality of amplifiers for supplying a plurality of data lines of a display device with a plurality of drive voltages obtained by individually amplifying each of the gray level voltages; and a standard gray level voltage generation part for generating a plurality of standard gray level voltages having each different voltage corresponding to each gray level. Each of the plurality of decoders selects the standard gray level voltage corresponding to the luminance level represented by the pixel data piece from the plurality of standard gray level voltages, and includes: a conversion part for supplying the selected standard gray level voltage to the amplifier via a first line with the selected standard gray level voltage as the gray level voltage; a voltage supply part for supplying one standard gray level voltage except for the selected standard gray level voltage from among the standard gray level voltages to a second line; and a shorting control circuit for controlling whether or not shorting is effected between the first and second lines.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【目的】高速駆動を行うことが可能な表示ドライバ及び半導体装置を提供することを目的とする。【構成】各画素の輝度レベルを表す複数の画素データ片の各々を個別に当該画素データ片によって表される輝度レベルに対応した大きさの階調電圧に変換する複数のデコーダと、階調電圧の各々を個別に増幅して得られた複数の駆動電圧を表示デバイスの複数のデータラインに供給する複数のアンプと、各階調に対応した夫々異なる電圧値を有する複数の基準階調電圧を生成する基準階調電圧生成部とを有し、複数のデコーダの各々は、複数の基準階調電圧のうちから、画素データ片によって表される輝度レベルに対応した基準階調電圧を選択し、選択した基準階調電圧を上記階調電圧として第1のラインを介してアンプに供給する変換部と、複数の基準階調電圧のうちで選択した基準階調電圧を除く1つの基準階調電圧を第2のラインに供給する電圧供給部と、第1及び第2のライン間を短絡するか否かを制御する短絡制御回路と、を含む。【選択図】図4
