PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of improving merchantability.SOLUTION: The display device includes a liquid crystal display panel 30 and a light source 20 for supplying illumination light to the liquid crystal display panel 30. The liquid crystal display panel 30 has: a liquid crystal cell 34 in which a liquid crystal 33 is sealed between a pair of light-transmitting substrates 31, 32 respectively having transparent electrodes 31a, 32a formed on inner surfaces thereof; a first polarizing member 35 disposed on a front side of the liquid crystal cell 34; and a transflective second polarizing member 36 disposed between the liquid crystal cell 34 and the light source 20.
