Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a methacrylic resin solving the above described problems, high in heat resistance, having regulated birefringence at high level, excellent in color tone and heat stability and less in coloring.PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: There is provided a methacrylic resin containing a structural unit (X) having a ring structure in a main chain, having glass transition temperature of over 120°C and 160°C or less, and weight reduction rate at 150 to 300°C when a methanol insoluble component is heated by a thermogravimetric measurement under air atmosphere of 15 mass% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】本発明は、上記問題点を解決し、耐熱性が高く、高度に複屈折率が制御され、色調及び熱安定性に優れ、着色が少ないメタクリル系樹脂を提供することを目的とする。【解決課題】主鎖に環構造を有する構造単位(X)を含み、ガラス転移温度が120℃超160℃以下であり、メタノール不溶分を熱重量測定により空気雰囲気下で加熱したときの150〜300℃における重量減少率が15質量%以下であることを特徴とする、メタクリル系樹脂。【選択図】なし
