Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent degradation of collision avoidance effect under conditions that the road surface friction coefficient gets smaller.SOLUTION: The vehicle controller executes both or either one of an automatic steering control and an automatic brake control as a collision avoidance control for avoiding collision of own vehicle against a forward object. The vehicle controller determines whether or not the ambient temperature is lower than a predetermined value (S50, S60). When the ambient temperature is lower than the predetermined value, the vehicle controller determines that the state is under a low friction in which the road surface friction coefficient gets smaller. When determining the state is under a low friction (S70), the vehicle controller carries out a series of processing to advance the start timing of the collision avoidance control.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 【課題】路面摩擦係数が小さくなる状況において衝突回避効果の低下を抑制する。【解決手段】前方物体と自車両との衝突を回避するための衝突回避制御として、自動操舵制御と自動制動制御との両方又は一方を実施する車両制御装置では、S50,S60にて、外気温が所定値以下か否かを判定し、外気温が所定値以下であれば、路面摩擦係数が小さくなる低摩擦状況であると判定する。そして、低摩擦状況であると判定した場合には、S70にて、衝突回避制御の開始タイミングを早めるための処理を行う。【選択図】図2
