Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a RFeB based magnet, capable of performing grain boundary diffusion treatment in the state of having a good contact with the surface of a base material consisting of a metal body including a rare earth element to be diffused and a RFeB based magnet.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a RFeB based magnet comprises: the base material preparation step of preparing a base material 11 having crystal grains including one or more kinds of rare earth elements R, Fe, and B as a principal component by sintering or hot plastic processing; the welding step of welding a R containing metal body 12 consisting of metal including one or more kinds of rare earth elements to be diffused being a rare earth element of a kind different from the rare earth element R included in the base material or the same kind on the surface of the base material 11; and the heating step of heating the base material 11 and the R containing metal body 12 at a predetermined temperature at which the rare earth element to be diffused diffuses into the base material 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】拡散対象希土類元素を含有する金属体とRFeB系磁石から成る基材の表面との接触性がよい状態で粒界拡散処理を行うことができるRFeB系磁石の製造方法を提供する。【解決手段】焼結又は熱間塑性加工により、1種又は複数種の希土類元素R、Fe及びBを主成分とする結晶粒を有する基材11を作製する基材作製工程と、前記基材が含有する希土類元素Rと異種又は同種の希土類元素である1種又は複数種の拡散対象希土類元素を含有する金属から成るR含有金属体12を基材11の表面に溶接する溶接工程と、基材11及びR含有金属体12を、拡散対象希土類元素が基材11内に拡散する所定温度に加熱する加熱工程とを有する。【選択図】図1
