PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation apparatus which can execute image processing at the high resolution without increasing the data transfer amount.SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus for forming an image in accordance with light emitted from a light source includes: a first image processing unit which executes image processing to the image data at the first resolution for outputting; a resolution conversion unit which acquires the image data at the first resolution output from the first image processing unit and converts the image data to the image data at the second resolution higher than the first resolution; a modulation signal generation unit which generates a modulation signal obtained by modulating the image data at the second resolution in accordance with a clock signal; a light source drive unit which drives the light source in accordance with the modulation signal; and a second image processing unit which executes image processing to the image data at the second resolution modulated to the modulation signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11 【課題】データ転送量を増加させることなく高い解像度での画像処理を実行することができる画像形成装置を提供する。【解決手段】光源から発光させた光に応じた画像を形成する画像形成装置であって、第１解像度の画像データに対して画像処理を実行して出力する第１画像処理部と、第１画像処理部から出力された第１解像度の画像データを取得して、第１解像度よりも高い第２解像度の画像データに変換する解像度変換部と、第２解像度の画像データをクロック信号に応じて変調した変調信号を生成する変調信号生成部と、変調信号に応じて光源を駆動する光源駆動部と、変調信号に変調される第２解像度の画像データに対して画像処理を実行する第２画像処理部と、を備える画像形成装置を提供する。【選択図】図１１
