Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the occurrence of axial misalignment while suppressing the construction of a radar device from increasing in size.SOLUTION: A radar device mounted aboard a vehicle transmits a radar wave consisting of an electromagnetic wave and receives a reflected wave by a receiving antenna having vertical directivity along the vehicle height direction of the vehicle. It then detects a target on the basis of the result of the radar wave being transmitted and received. In the radar device, the state of a reference axis is inclined along the vehicle height direction by a previously stipulated angle or more from a horizontal axis extending from the receiving antenna is defined as an axial misalignment state, and the scattering intensity of a main beam of radar wave from a road surface within a predefined specific distance from the receiving antenna in a non-axial misalignment state is defined as reference reflection intensity. When minimum reflection intensity that is a minimum intensity of reflection within the specific distance is greater than or equal to the reference reflection intensity, the radar device determines as being in an axial misalignment state on the basis of the result of the radar wave being transmitted and received (S210-S270).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】レーダ装置の構成が大型化することを抑制しつつ、軸ズレの発生を検知すること。【解決手段】車両に搭載されるレーダ装置は、電磁波からなるレーダ波を送信し、車両の車高方向に沿った垂直指向性を有した受信アンテナで、反射波を受信する。そして、レーダ波を送受信した結果に基づいて物標を検出する。さらに、レーダ装置においては、受信アンテナから延出する水平軸に対して基準軸が車高方向に沿って予め規定された規定角度以上の傾きを有した状態を軸ズレ状態とし、非軸ズレ状態である場合における受信アンテナから予め規定された特定距離内の路面からのレーダ波の主ビームの散乱強度を基準反射強度とする。そして、レーダ装置は、レーダ波を送受信した結果に基づいて、特定距離内における最小の反射強度である最小反射強度が基準反射強度以上であれば、軸ズレ状態であるものと判定する(S210〜270)。【選択図】図4
