Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing a mold remaining in a cast product capable of facilitating collapse of the mold remaining in the cast to be removed.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a method for removing a mold remaining in a cast product when the cast product, which is obtained by molding using a mold formed by binding molding sand with organic binder, is removed from the mold. The method for removing a mold remaining in the cast product comprises: carbonizing as well as activating the organic binder of the mold attached to the cast product; and then removing the remaining mold attached to the cast product. Thus, carbonization makes the organic binder become carbide with a porous structure, and activation makes the carbide develop porous micro structure and become very brittle so as to facilitate collapsing the remaining mold attached to the cast product to be easily removed from the cast product.SELECTED DRAWING: None 【課題】鋳造物に残存して付着する鋳型を容易に崩壊させて除去することができる鋳造物に残存する鋳型の除去方法を提供する。【解決手段】有機バインダーで鋳物砂を結合させることによって形成される鋳型を用いて鋳造することにより得られる鋳造物を鋳型から脱型する際に、鋳造物に付着して残る鋳型を除去する方法に関する。鋳造物に付着する鋳型の有機バインダーを炭化させると共にさらに賦活する処理を行なった後、鋳造物に付着する鋳型を除去する。有機バインダーを炭化させると多孔質構造の炭化物になり、さらにこの炭化物を賦活すると多孔質の微細構造が発達し、非常に脆い状態にすることができ、鋳造物に残存して付着する鋳型を容易に崩壊させて鋳造物から容易に除去することができる。【選択図】なし
