Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a technique that corrects focus detection errors arising from a lateral chromatic aberration of an imaging optical system with high accuracy.SOLUTION: A focus detection device has: acquisition means that acquires a first focus detection signal for each color from a first focus detection pixel in an image pick-up element having a plurality of focus detection pixels receiving a light flux respectively passing through a different pupil part area of an imaging optical system, and acquires a second focus detection signal for each color therefrom; focus detection means that uses the first focus detection signal and the second focus detection signal to conduct focus detection; and correction means that corrects focus detection errors arising from a lateral chromatic aberration of the imaging optical system. The correction means has at least any of first correction processing means that makes a signal correction for each color with respect to the first and second focus detection signals to be used in conducting focus detection by the focus detection means, and second correction processing means that corrects an amount of deviation of the focus obtained by the focus detection means, which uses the first and second focus detection signals to conduct the focus detection, in accordance with the lateral chromatic aberration of the imaging optical system.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 【課題】撮影光学系の倍率色収差に起因する焦点検出誤差を精度良く補正する技術を実現する。【解決手段】焦点検出装置は、撮影光学系の異なる瞳部分領域をそれぞれ通過する光束を受光する複数の焦点検出画素を有する撮像素子における、第1の焦点検出画素から色毎の第1の焦点検出信号を取得し、第2の焦点検出画素から色毎の第2の焦点検出信号を取得する取得手段と、前記第1の焦点検出信号および前記第2の焦点検出信号を用いて焦点検出を行う焦点検出手段と、前記撮影光学系の倍率色収差に起因する焦点検出誤差を補正する補正手段と、を有し、前記補正手段は、前記焦点検出手段が焦点検出を行う際に用いる前記第1および第2の焦点検出信号に対して色毎に信号補正を行う第1の補正処理手段と、前記焦点検出手段が前記第1および第2の焦点検出信号を用いて焦点検出を行い得られた焦点ずれ量を前記撮影光学系の倍率色収差に応じて補正する第2の補正処理手段の少なくともいずれかを有する。【選択図】図4
