Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection optical device ad image projection device that make it possible to easily adjust a distance between a projection lens unit and image creation means.SOLUTION: A projection optical unit 60, which serves a projection optical device, has a unit holding frame 73 that holds a projection lens unit 601 holding a first moving projection lens 81a, a second moving projection lens 81b, a third moving projection lens 81c, a fourth moving projection lens 81d, a first stationary projection lens 81e and a second stationary projection lens 81f movably in a Z-axis direction, in which the unit holding frame 73 is in engagement with a flange member 72, and the flange member 72 is attached to an optical housing such as an illumination bracket 407 and the like having image creation means such as a DMD502 and the like attached. Further, the projection optical unit comprise movement means such as a unit movement cam frame 71 and the like making the projection lens unit 601 move in the Z-axis direction with respect to the unit holding frame 73.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 【課題】容易に投写レンズユニットと画像生成手段との距離を調整することができる投写光学装置および画像投写装置を提供する。【解決手段】投写光学装置たる投写光学部60は、第一移動投写レンズ81a、第二移動投写レンズ81b、第三移動投写レンズ81c、第四移動投写レンズ81d、第一固定投写レンズ81e、第二固定投写レンズ81fを保持する投写レンズユニット601をZ軸方向に移動可能に保持するユニット保持枠73を有している。このユニット保持枠73は、フランジ部材72に嵌合しており、フランジ部材72がDMD502などの画像生成手段が取り付けられた照明ブラケット407などの光学ハウジングに取り付けられている。また、投写レンズユニット601を、ユニット保持枠73に対してZ軸方向に移動させるユニット移動カム枠71などの移動手段を備えている。【選択図】図5
