Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economic means of producing hydrofluoroolefins, such as HFO-1234yf.SOLUTION: The present invention relates, in part, to the surprising discovery that, during the dehydrochlorination of 2-chloro-1,1,1,2-tetrafluoropropane (HCFC-244bb) to 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (HFO-1234yf) in a reactor, impurities formed through halidation of the materials of the reactor leads to a reduction of the HFO-1234yf production rate and/or selectivity changeover from HFO-1234yf to 2-chloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene (HCFO-1233xf).
