Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to improve the accuracy of a result of detection of a toner residual amount.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises: a first acquisition part A that acquires a residual amount A by subtracting a consumption ΔA from a residual amount A1; a second acquisition part that acquires, as a residual amount B, the amount of developer remaining in a developer container after a previous or current image forming operation is executed; and a notification part that notifies a user of the residual amount A.
