Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid developer that can suppress a reduction in density of an image due to isolation of carbon black, and density unevenness and cleaning failure.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for manufacturing a liquid developer that includes toner particles each including carbon black and a binder resin, and a toner particle dispersing agent. The amounts of the group 15 elements, group 16 elements, and group 17 elements on the surface of the carbon black are respectively 0.1 atom% or less relative to the total amount of the elements on the surface; the acid value of the binder resin is 5 mgKOH/g or more and 50 mgKOH/g or less; the toner dispersing agent is a basic dispersing agent.
