Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation apparatus capable of suppressing a toner and a carrier from sticking on an image carrier surface in any use environment.SOLUTION: An image formation apparatus comprises an image carrier, an electrostatic charging member, a developing device, a voltage applying device, a temperature/humidity detecting device, and a control unit. The control part raises a surface potential of the image carrier in a plurality of stages up to a reference potential via one or more intermediate potentials, and lowers the surface potential in a plurality of stages from the reference potential via the intermediate potentials. The control part determines a reference bias with which the surface potential of the image carrier reaches the reference potential according to temperature and humidity detected by the temperature/humidity detecting device, sets the surface potential of the image carrier to an intermediate bias obtained by subtracting a predetermined correction bias from the reference bias in raising the surface potential to the intermediate potential, and varies the correction bias value according to the temperature and humidity detected by the temperature/humidity detecting device when the intermediate potential is lower than the predetermined potential.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 【課題】使用環境に係わらず、像担持体表面へのトナーやキャリアの付着を抑制可能な画像形成装置を提供する。【解決手段】画像形成装置は、像担持体と、帯電部材と、現像装置と、電圧印加装置と、温湿度検知装置と、制御部と、を備える。制御部は、像担持体の表面電位を1つ以上の中間電位を経て基準電位まで複数段階に分けて立ち上げ、基準電位から中間電位を経て複数段階に分けて立ち下げる。制御部は、温湿度検知装置により検知された温度及び湿度に応じて像担持体の表面電位が基準電位となる基準バイアスを決定し、像担持体の表面電位を中間電位とする際は、基準バイアスから所定の補正バイアス値を差し引いた中間バイアスに設定するとともに、中間電位が所定電位よりも低い場合は、温湿度検知装置により検知された温度及び湿度に応じて補正バイアス値を変化させる。【選択図】図6
