Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique where, in an ion exchange membrane electrolytic tank having two chamber process gas diffusion cathode on a current circuit controlled to fixed current by a common current source apparatus, temperature is controlled to the optional one in accordance with current density in spite of a difference in calorific value or the like caused by voltage performance caused between unit cells.SOLUTION: The inside of a cathode chamber 3 is provided with a compartment wall 40 on the side opposite to an ion exchange membrane 1 to compose a cooling chamber 4 capable of circulating a cooling medium, and, per unit cell, flow rate adjustment parts such as manual valves V1 to V4 capable of adjusting the feed flow rate of the cooling medium are provided. Then, the electrolysis temperature per unit cell is controlled to the optimum operation temperature in accordance with current density via the adjustment of the flow rate of the cooling medium without adjusting the flow rate and concentration of salt water fed to each unit cell per unit cell.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
【課題】共通の直流電源装置により定電流制御された電流回路上の2室法ガス拡散陰極を有するイオン交換膜電解槽において、ユニットセル間に生じる電圧性能に起因する発熱量等の差に関わらず、電流密度に応じた任意の均一性のたかい温度に制御する技術を提供すること。【解決手段】陰極室3内にイオン交換膜1とは反対側に区画壁40を設けて冷却媒体を流通できる冷却室4を構成し、ユニットセル毎に冷却媒体の供給流量を調整できる流量調整部例えば手動弁V1〜V4を設ける。そしてユニットセルに供給する塩水流量や塩水濃度をユニットセル毎に調整することなく、それぞれのユニットセル毎の電解温度を、冷却媒体の流量の調整を介して電流密度に応じた最適な運転温度に制御する。【選択図】 図3 |
