Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus that is able to pick up a high image quality video that is accumulated for a long period, without increasing a pixel size, and to provide a control method for an imaging apparatus.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises a plurality of pixels arranged in columns and rows, each pixel having: a photoelectric conversion part that accumulates signal charges generated by photoelectric conversion of emitted light; a first holding part and a second holding part, each of which holds a signal charge transferred from the photoelectric conversion part; and an output part that outputs a signal to a row signal line, the signal being based on an amount of signal charges held by the first holding part or second holding part.
