Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and an imaging system that are able to obtain a moving image of a wide dynamic range while carrying out high-performance automatic focus.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus includes: first and second photoelectric conversion parts on which pupil-split light is made incident; and a holding part that holds electric charges transferred from the first and second photoelectric conversion parts. The imaging apparatus has a pixel that outputs a signal based on the electric charges of a holding part. The pixel is configured to output a first signal based on charges generated in the first photoelectric conversion part during a first exposure time; a second signal based on electric charges generated in the first and second photoelectric conversion parts during the first exposure time; a third signal based on electric charges generated in the first photoelectric conversion part during a second exposure time; and a fourth signal based on electric charges generated in the first and second photoelectric conversion parts during a second exposure time. During one frame period, the first and second signals are output before the third and fourth signals.
