Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect information of a tape, such as the tip position of the tape, the pitch between adjoining cavities, and presence/absence of a component in the cavity, without using multiple optical sensors for the tape.SOLUTION: A controller determines a tape reference position having a certain positional relationship with a first origin position, based on the first position of a tape feeder when the tip of a carrier tape was detected, and the first origin point of the tape feeder immediately before detection of the tip. After determination of the tape reference position, interval of cavities is calculated based on the detection period of a transmitted light amount detected by transmitting light through an empty cavity. When such a phenomenon that the detected light amount goes below a threshold continues after calculating the interval of cavity, reception of the component in the cavity is detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9 【課題】テープに対して複数の光学式のセンサを用いることなく、テープの先端位置、隣り合うキャビティ間のピッチおよびキャビティ内の部品の有無等テープの情報を検出する。【解決手段】制御装置は、キャリアテープの先端が検知された時のテープ送り装置の第一位置、及び、先端検知直前におけるテープ送り装置の第一原点位置に基づいて、第一の原点位置と一定の位置関係を有するテープ基準位置を決定する。そして、テープ基準位置の決定後に、空のキャビティに対し光を透過させて検出した透過光量の検出周期に基づいてキャビティの間隔を演算する。また、キャビティの間隔の演算後において検出光量が閾値以下となる現象が連続したとき、キャビティに部品が収納されていると検知する。【選択図】図9
