Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-repellent article which includes a substrate, a first coating film containing silica fine particles on the substrate, and a second coating film containing a water-repellent compound on the first coating film and achieves both super water repellency and wear resistance, and a method of manufacturing the water-repellent article.SOLUTION: The water-repellent article includes a substrate, a first coating film on the substrate, and a second coating film on the first coating film. The first coating film contains a sintered compact of silica fine particles and an alkali metal compound and has a degree of sintering represented by formula [1] of 0.7-0.9. The second coating film contains at least one compound selected from the group consisting of a fluoroalkylsilane compound, a perfluoropolyether silane compound, an alkylsilane compound, a silazane compound, and a silicone compound.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 【課題】本発明は、基材と、該基材上のシリカ微粒子を含む被膜と、該被膜上に撥水性化合物を含む被膜とを有する撥水性物品において、超撥水性と耐摩耗性を両立させた撥水性物品及びその製造方法を提供することを課題とする。【解決手段】基材と、該基材上の第1被膜と、該第1被膜上の第2被膜とを有する撥水性物品であって、該第1被膜が、シリカ微粒子とアルカリ金属化合物との焼結体を含み、式[1]で示す焼結度が0.7〜0.9の被膜であり、該第2被膜が、フルオロアルキルシラン系化合物、パーフルオロポリエーテルシラン系化合物、アルキルシラン系化合物、シラザン化合物及びシリコーン化合物からなる群から選ばれる少なくとも1つの化合物を含む被膜であることを特徴とする撥水性物品。【選択図】図1
